Nice 1950's Carrom International desk. This desk has a similar design to the Paul McCobb Planner group series for which he was famous. The legs of this table aren't as diagonally spindly and, instead of two-drawer space, there are two open shelves. There is one small top drawer where the Carrom label is clearly visible and the foil sticker is in outstanding condition. The sticker allowed me to stamp date this piece. Shampaine Industries of St. Louis, MO. buys Carrom Industries (1951). Institutional furniture makes up the largest part of the company's volume. The desk itself could use a little sanding, perhaps, but the Champagne finish is in good-very good condition. There is one small circular chip in the veneer (see photo with quarter). There are also to-be-expected superficial dings and superficial scrapes for a table this age but I think the personality of this piece is fabulous.
Asking $195.
